The short version
- $29 for the bag, $279 for the pickup, up to 2,000 lb. Over that, $135 per ton from an on-site scale reading.
- Every extra bag on the same pickup is $179, $100 less than a pickup on its own. Two bags: $516. Three: $724. Up to 3 bags a pickup; a 4th starts another pickup at $279.
- 4 cubic yards or one ton, whichever you hit first. Light debris fills the space; concrete, dirt and roofing hit the weight.
- One or two bags beat a roll-off. 3 don't, for light debris. 3 bags on one pickup are $724; a 12-yard roll-off holds the same 12 cubic yards for $650 with 3 tons included.
- FREE bag shipment to customers located south of the 55 and west of the 241. Available only in cities within Orange County, California.

A bag sits in a 7 by 4-foot spot. Our smallest roll-off, the 12-yard, is about 14 by 8 feet outside. On a narrow lot or a short driveway, that difference can decide it before price does.
Bags that go on the same pickup share it. The first bag's pickup is $279; every bag after it on that pickup is $179, up to 3 bags a pickup. A 4th bag, or a bag picked up on a different day, is its own $279 pickup.
Two or three bags: put them on one pickup
This is the part most people don't know to ask about. Bags 2 and 3 are $100 less to pick up when they go on the same pickup as bag 1. Here is what one, two and three bags cost all in.
| Bags | The math | Total | Per bag | On separate days |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 bag | $29 + $279 | $308 | $308 | $308 |
| 2 bags | 2 × $29 + $279 + 1 × $179 | $516 | $258 | $616 |
| 3 bags | 3 × $29 + $279 + 2 × $179 | $724 | about $241 | $924 |
One pickup takes up to 3 bags. A 4th bag goes on another pickup, which starts again at $279: five bags are $724 + $516 = $1,240. Over one ton a bag, add $135 per ton from the scale reading.

Weight or space: which limit you hit first
One ton sounds like a lot until you weigh debris. At 2,400 lb per loose cubic yard, broken concrete hits the ton at about 0.8 cubic yards, a fifth of the bag. Mixed remodel debris, at 484 lb, fills all 4 cubic yards first.
| Material | lb per loose yd³ | One bag holds | Limit reached first |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mixed remodel / construction debris | 484 | 4.00 yd³ | 4 yd³ |
| Asphalt shingles (composition roofing) | 731 | 2.74 yd³ | 1 ton |
| Drywall / gypsum board (broken) | 467 | 4.00 yd³ | 4 yd³ |
| Lumber / wood (framing, decking, fencing) | 169 | 4.00 yd³ | 4 yd³ |
| Mixed yard waste, loose | 250 | 4.00 yd³ | 4 yd³ |
| Branches, brush and stumps | 127 | 4.00 yd³ | 4 yd³ |
| Dirt / soil, dry | 2,200 | 0.91 yd³ | 1 ton |
| Concrete, broken | 2,400 | 0.83 yd³ | 1 ton |
Weights per loose cubic yard are the ones our debris weight calculator uses: the U.S. EPA's volume-to-weight factors for most debris, and San Diego's and the U.S. Army's published figures for a load of only concrete or dirt, which run far heavier than the EPA's mixed-load numbers.
Heavy material: fill by weight, not by eye
A bag that looks a quarter full of broken concrete can already be at its limit. Over 2,000 lb, pickup adds $135 a ton. For concrete or dirt, compare with the roll-off's flat $775 price to the 10-cubic-yard fill line.
The crossover: when a roll-off costs less
The math is short. One filled bag is $308; two on one pickup are $516; three are $724. Our 12-yard roll-off is $650 for 14 days with 3 tons included. Two bags come in $134 under it. Three bags are $74 over, and they hold the same 12 cubic yards the 12-yard does. So at three bags' worth of light debris, the roll-off is the better buy if you have room for it.
| Bags | Volume | Picked up together | Cheapest roll-off | Cheaper |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 4 yd³ | $308 | 12-yard, $650 | Bags |
| 2 | 8 yd³ | $516 | 12-yard, $650 | Bags |
| 3 | 12 yd³ | $724 | 12-yard, $650 | Roll-off |
| 4 | 16 yd³ | $1,032 (2 pickups) | 16-yard, $785 | Roll-off |
| 5 | 20 yd³ | $1,240 (2 pickups) | 40-yard, $825 | Roll-off |
Up to 3 bags go on one pickup; more go on another pickup, which starts again at $279.
We ran the same test for every material in the table above, filling each bag to whichever limit comes first and pricing the same load on the right line of the rate sheet (debris, green waste, clean concrete or clean dirt). The crossover ranged from 3 to 4 bags: 3 for light material, more for heavy. Heavy material moves it because the roll-off to compare is a flat fill-line price: three one-ton bags of concrete on one pickup are $724, under the $775 clean concrete roll-off; 4 take a second pickup and come to $1,032, over it.
Two worked examples
A bathroom tear-out, 7 cubic yards of mixed debris. That's about 1.69 tons. By volume it needs 2 bags; by weight, 2. 2 bags are $516; a 12-yard roll-off is $650. Bags win by $134.
A small patio, 2 cubic yards of broken concrete. That's about 2.4 tons, so weight sets it: 3 bags at $724, against $775 for a 12-yard clean concrete roll-off. Bags win by $51.
Overfilling one bag instead. Put 1.4 tons in a single bag and pickup covers the first ton; the other 0.4 ton is billed at $135 a ton, which the tool prorates to $54. The rate sheet doesn't say how the scale reading is rounded, so ask us.
Bag, roll-off, or haul it yourself
- Bags fit one or two bags' worth of light debris (8 cubic yards), up to three tons of heavy material, a tight spot, or a job where you don't want a bin sitting on the driveway for two weeks. Put them on one pickup.
- A roll-off is cheaper from 3 bags' worth of light debris up, has bigger sizes, and gives heavy loads flat prices to a fill line. See the dumpster cost calculator.
- A dump run can be cheaper still for a load or two: Orange County's public landfills charge $30 for a pickup load under 880 lb. The dump run calculator counts your trips, miles and hours honestly.
Yard waste is light (250 lb per cubic yard), so it fills a bag by volume. Shingles, at 731 lb, reach the ton at about 2.7 cubic yards, and dry dirt, at 2,200 lb, at about 0.9. The debris weight calculator turns your pile into tons.
