Worked example
A 20-yard, 4.6 tons of debris, 17 days, moved once
- 20-yard, debris, trash: $650 (3 tons & under. $135 each additional ton.)
- Extra tonnage: $270 (4.60 t rounds to 5 t; 5 − 3 included = 2 t × $135)
- Extra rental days: $45 (17 − 14 included = 3 days × $15)
- Moving the dumpster on site: $150 (1 × $150)
Total: $650 + $270 + $45 + $150 = $1,115. At 4.4 tons the weight would round to 4 and the bill would be $980. Going from 3.4 to 3.5 tons costs a full $135, which is why an honest weight estimate matters.

- No electronics, tires or hazardous materials.
- Overfilled dumpster (above the red line): additional charges may apply.
- Extra tonnage is rounded to the nearest ton.
- 2-week rental; $15.00 for each additional day unless other arrangements have been made.
- All invoices are due upon receipt, unless other arrangements have been made.
- Out of area: additional charges apply depending on area — call, text or email for pricing.
How to use it
In 4 steps
- 1Pick the size. Heavy loads (concrete, dirt, brick) are only listed for the 12 to 25-yard bins.
- 2Pick what's going in. Anything mixed with debris is weighed and billed as debris.
- 3For debris or green waste, enter the estimated tons.
- 4Enter how many days you'll keep it and how many times it moves on site.
What actually changes the bill
Weight, rounded. Debris and green waste are priced by the ton past the included 3 (5 in the 40), and the rate sheet rounds to the nearest ton. 3.49 tons bills as 3; 3.5 bills as 4. Use the debris weight calculator or, for a roof, the roofing calculator to estimate it.
Mixing. Clean concrete, clean dirt and the dirt-and-concrete mix are flat prices to a 10-cubic-yard fill line, and clean brick is a flat fee. The moment debris goes in with them, the whole bin is weighed and billed at the debris rate. No green waste or roots in a concrete or brick load, and no electronics, tires or hazardous materials in any bin.
The red line and the calendar. Overfilling above the red line can add charges. The rental is 14 days; after that it’s $15 a day unless other arrangements have been made. The rate sheet also lists a $$250 dry run; ask us what counts as one. Out-of-area deliveries cost more, so call or text for that price. For small jobs, compare bags against a roll-off or a dump run.
FAQ
Cost calculator: questions
How much does it cost to rent a dumpster in Orange County?
On Eco Waste's rate sheet, a 12, 15, 16, 20 or 25-yard bin is $650 for 14 days with up to 3 tons of debris or green waste, and the 40-yard is $825 with 5 tons. Extra tons are $135, extra days $15, and a move on site $150.
How is extra weight rounded?
To the nearest ton. With 3 tons included, 3.4 tons bills as 3 (no extra) and 3.5 bills as 4 (one extra ton at $135). Loads dumped at TVI are $185 per ton over instead; ask us which facility your load goes to.
How much is a concrete or dirt dumpster?
Clean concrete or clean dirt is $775 and a mixed dirt-and-concrete load is $950, each filled to the 10-cubic-yard fill line inside the bin. Clean brick is a flat $950. These are listed for the 12 to 25-yard bins, not the 40.
What happens if I mix debris into a concrete load?
The rate sheet says any debris or trash combined with dirt, concrete, brick or green waste is weighed and billed at debris rates, so the flat heavy-load price no longer applies.
How long can I keep the dumpster?
The rental is 14 days. Each extra day is $15 unless other arrangements have been made.
