Rules at the gate
- All loads must be covered — $50 per uncovered load.
- Declare Non-City waste and its origin at entry; any Non-City waste bills the whole load at Non-City rates.
- 20 CY open tops are presumed C&D unless declared; 30 CY+ open tops can bill at Special Handling.
- No hand unloads after 4pm. Minimum fee is the Tier 1 City rate ($75 refuse).
- Appliances, TVs, e-waste, universal waste and HHW must be removed before entering; loads are randomly inspected.
- Special waste (non-friable asbestos, treated wood) needs pre-approval, an appointment and a $91/load manifest fee.
Heads up
- Treated wood: the City posts a pre-approval process, but Miramar is not on the State Water Board TWW list — call first.
- OC-origin loads pay Non-City rates; 2022 rules say Miramar may refuse waste from outside City limits.
- Clean Fill Dirt Program: self-dumping dump trucks only (roll-offs, crane trucks not listed); no dirt for 3 days after rain.
Tip: Mixed C&D runs about 2.4x trash here ($241 vs $102/ton City) and earns no credit; tarp every load or pay $50.
